Toh-ji Temple

塔ばかり見へて東寺は夏木立

The haiku refers to To^ji, a Buddhist temple in Kyoto. Shinji Ogawa comments, "[Issa] skillfully depicts the vigorous green foliage in summer without mentioning anything about the foliage itself."
